Moab 2013 – White Rim Trail Day 2 Trip Report
18 June 2013

Our plan for the day was to continue on White Rim Trail to our next camping spot, White Crack and Gooseberry (we had different campsites assigned to us). However, Jonathan had a great idea and contacted the ranger's to get permission to camp at Airport Tower instead. This is the closest camp site to Lathrop Canyon and even more important, easy access to the Colorado River. So on this day we drove a long 27 (approx) miles from Hardscrabble to Airport Tower. Once again the scenery was phenomenal and the trail had some rocky sections, sandy sections, switchbacks, and real cliffhangers.

After many stops and the ride we arrived at Airport to set up camp.

Our group still consisted of

Jonathan Kalmes, yellow '06 LJ Rubi on 35's
Rob Kizer and Paul ??, LJ Rubi on 35's
Doug and Robin Masnick, 93 Forerunner 32's?
Scott and Renee Corliss, red 2000 XJ on 35's?
Rich Martinez, 2011 JKUR on 35's with 1952 M-416 trailer and RTT
