Medical Advice: Tetanus Shots

Wheeling and wrenching put all of us at high risk for contracting tetanus. Everyone should get a tetanus shot every five years. Tetanus injections go in the upper arm. Too many TV shows depict TD being given in the tush, for the entertainment value. Tetanus shots can be had for a mere $5 at any of the five Fairfax County Health Department Branches.

The following web site lists the locations: www.co.fairfax.va.us/service/hd/hdclinicsite.htm

Walk in hours for all five branches:
Monday 8:00 - 3:30
Tuesday 8:00 - 6:00
Wednesday 8:00 - 3:30
(no services at the Herndon branch on Wednesdays)
Thursday 12:00 - 3:30
Friday 7:30 - 12:00

In addition, appointments can be made for RN clinic on Wednesday afternoons, at some of the branches. Generally speaking, RN appointments are faster than walk in services.
